The District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, the members of which are District residents and are elected by the registered voters of the District to staggered four-year terms. The current directors, their office and the expiration dates of their terms are set forth below.

The Board of Directors meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at their regular meeting place at 805 Hidden Canyon, Katy, TX 77450. For a map to this location, click here. The mission of the District is to provide planned, effective water and/or wastewater service to our residents. Recognizing that water resources are limited, the mission of the District is also to preserve and protect these valuable resources, promoting their conservation and conservation awareness in the community.

Cornerstones Municipal Utility District was created by an order of the Texas Water Rights Commission, now known as the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC), effective February 23, 1978, in accordance with the Texas Water Code, Chapter 54. The Board of Directors held its first meeting on March 6, 1978, and the first bonds were sold on December 13, 1978. The District operates in accordance with Chapters 49 and 54 of the Texas Water Code and is subject to the continuing supervision of the TNRCC. The principal functions of the District are to finance, construct, own, and operate waterworks, wastewater, and drainage facilities and to provide such facilities and services to the customers of the District. The District also provides parks and recreational facilities.
